EARLY AMERICAN EAGLE HEAD POMMEL SABER
A early American Eagle head pommel , bone grip, etched blade Saber , "Warranted" etched in blade near ricasso twin drums and perhaps Liberty Cap etched midway on blade, no scabbard, blade length is 28 inches, overall length is 34 inches, overall good condition. c1790-1805
This sword is damaged - gaurd is partiall broken and missing. This sword also shows signs of being used in battel - 3 nick marks on the blade are clear indications it has been hit with another blade. Athough we cannot prove it, it is possible this sword was likely carried and possible use in action in the War of 1812. It's not a perfect example of this model of sword, but in my mind, the possibility it was actually used in battel at one point give it far more history to me than the few perfect, untouched examples you can find in musumes or private collections.
